Aw this is sweet, and bar far my favorite scene from the book! I still haven't finished "Seeing Redd" but I love Frank Beddors tale of Alyss and the Wonderlandians/Alyssians :D

I dont really do anything so i have a lot of spare time that I very seldom ever use wisely. Though when I find myself doing something, it seems to be quite artistic.

shoot my cupid out of the sky;
break off his wings,
and ask him, "just why?"
he played such a sick joke on the fool that is me
and cursed me with the sickness--
your love is my heart disease.

Lovely illustration :)

Tho as mentioned below, I thought in the novel, Alyss had black hair?

Remarkably sweet in a vamp sort of way, eh? Haha

As i mentioned above previously to Des, I couldn't find *any* mention of haircolour in LGW about Alice. Beddor is very descriptive about some things, but not about others. (It's possible it's in there and I missed it...but most things like haircolour of characters...Beddor doesn't go into detail about.)

I actually pictured her with blond hair until there was the comparission to Alice Liddell later on in the book (who argueably has dark brown or black hair depending on who you ask.) Also, in official artwork I've seen of the LGW Alyss (including one of her in her wedding dress) she's pictured with brown hair.

I looked at a lot of alice artwork while trying to come up with the designs..I just finally decided on the brown because it was close to Alice Liddell's, and I could make it in such a way she could be sen as royal and 'common' at the same time. :)

Even if the novel says 'black hair' at this point, I probably wouldn't change the picture. :)
:iconcursedxtea:
Oh no, I wasn't meaning to be offensive if that's how it seemed. It's just when they describe Alice later in the book when she's getting married to that prince, I'm sure there was mention to black hair, just mentioned it.

Anyways, I think that colour is better. I still can't get the image of blonde with the blue dress out of my head everytime I read it lol. Plus this is your work, so it can be any colour you like:)

Sorry if you miss took what I said.

nah your completely fine. Like I mentioned, I looked _everywhere_ in the book, so it's possible I missed it. and since the reference pieces from official artwork had her with dark brown hair, she received dark brown hair. :)

Huh. Neither of them look even remotely like how I'd pictured them as I read the first book... But I really like your vision of them. Especially how cozy and innocent they look together. And gosh, that dress looks both pretty and a -pain in the ass- to draw. Nonetheless, a really adorable pic.

(This makes me like Dodge a whole lot more. I'm a sucker for devoted little boys in vaguely costumed outfits. )
